Prime Minister Modi met the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha. They also held a bilateral meeting.

Upon his arrival in Doha on Wednesday night, PM Modi held talks with his counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Both leaders explored avenues for strengthening the bilateral relationship.
After the meeting, the Indian Prime Minister, in a post on X, said: "Had a wonderful meeting with PM @MBA_AlThani_. Our discussions revolved around ways to boost India-Qatar friendship."

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said, during the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on expanding bilateral cooperation in sectors such as trade, investment, energy, finance, and technology.
The talks between PM Modi and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani were held days after eight former Indian Navy veterans, who were sentenced to death in Qatar on espionage charges, were released.
The Indian and Qatari leaders also deliberated on recent developments in West Asia and spoke about the significance of maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a statement after the talks between both leaders, saying, "During the meeting, they discussed cooperation relations between the two friendly countries and ways to support and develop them, especially in the fields of energy, commerce and investment.”
A dinner was also hosted by the Prime Minister of Qatar in honour of PM Modi.

Discussions covered expanding bilateral cooperation in sectors such as trade & investment, energy, finance among others," MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on X.
PM Modi arrived in Qatar on Wednesday night after wrapping up his UAE visit. He was received at the airport by the country's State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.
PM Modi also received a warm welcome from the Indian diaspora outside his hotel in Qatar where people waved the Indian Tricolours and chanted "Modi Modi" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai."

PM Modi greeted the crowd, shook hands with them and accepted gifts such as books. The enthusiastic crowd also clicked pictures of the Indian Prime Minister as he interacted with them.
