New Delhi: Out of reckoning from the Indian team within the mean time, Yuzvendra Chahal picked up 5 wickets for Northamptonshire on Day 2 of their County Championship Division Two match against Derbyshire. The Indian leggie joined Northamptonshire for their last One-Day Cup game and 5 County Championship Division Two matches.

Defending 219 from the first innings that Northamptonshire scored, Derbyshire were cruising well with Luis Reece and Wayne Madsen within the middle. Nonetheless, it used to be Chahal who broke the partnership with a sensational delivery that sent Madsen packing.

The dismissal of Madsen triggered the collapse for Derbyshire as they went from 93/three to 165 all out, thus giving the opposition the upper hand. Earlier, Chahal made his Northamptonshire debut against Kent within the One Day Cup and picked up a 5-wicket haul too.

He got only 1 wicket against Middlesex before going wicket-less against Gloucestershire within the County Championship. For the unknown, Chahal used to be a bit of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados. Nonetheless, Chahal didn’t get a single game.
