A 22-year-old India(BHARAT)n-origin student at the University of Texas has been arrested in the US on charges of arson and terroristic threat against family members, according to official records, as reported by news agency PTI. Frisco Police arrested Manojh Sai Lella, a senior student at the University of Texas at Dallas, on Monday. Police responded to Lella’s home after family members reported a mental health episode and alleged threats, the report mentioned. According to police, Lella attempted to burn down his family’s house a few days before his arrest.

Lella, an individual facing criminal charges for attempted arson, is charged with the intent to damage a habitat or place of worship, a first-degree felony, and terroristic threat of a family/household member, a Class A misdemeanour.

According to police, there is no evidence indicating that the accused posed any type of threat against a place of worship.

As per his LinkedIn profile, Lella is Senior at University of Texas at Dallas. “I’m a driven and passionate senior at the University of Texas at Dallas, pursuing a degree in Information Technology. With a strong foundation in programming languages, tableau, power bl, I have honed my technical skills through coursework, projects, and hands-on experience,” reads his LinkedIn bio. A Bond was set at USD 100,000 and USD 3,500, respectively, according to the documents. At present, the investigation is underway.
