Actor Jimmy Shergill’s father, Satyajit Singh Shergill dies at 90

Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill’s father, Satyajit Singh Shergill, who appeared in many acclaimed films, passed away. Satyajit Singh Shergill was 90 years old. Following his death, a Bhog and Ardaas (prayer) ceremony has been scheduled for October 14. The news of the actor’s father’s passing has cast a pall of gloom over Bollywood.

According to media reports, Bhog and Ardaas will be held on October 14th from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm at Gurudwara Dhan Pothohar Nagar, Santacruz West, Mumbai. Very few people know that Jimmy’s real name is Jasjit Singh Gill, now known simply as Jimmy. He hails from Deokhiya village, near Sardarnagar in Gorakhpur district.

When Jimmy’s father stopped talking to him

Jimmy explained the matter of cutting his hair in an interview with the Times of India(BHARAT). The actor said, “I wore a turban for 18 years. But, wearing it in the hostel and managing my hair was a challenge. There were many other things as well. One day, I told my father that I was getting my hair cut. Not only my father, but the entire family didn’t speak to me properly for a long time. Only my uncle spoke to me, because he did the same.” On the work front, Jimmy was last seen in the Punjabi film “Maa Jaaye,” which was released on August 29, 2025. He also appeared in the web series “Ranteethi.”
