Aishwarya Rai Bachchan used her appearance at the Red Sea Film Festival to address a recurring question that has followed her for years: whether her daughter Aaradhya has any presence on social media. The actor firmly dismissed the speculation, saying that all accounts claiming to belong to her daughter are fake and not connected to their family in any way.

Speaking at the event, the 52-year-old star explained that well-wishers may have created fan pages out of affection, but none of these should be mistaken for the nine-year-old’s own platforms. “Sometimes people believe the profiles out there are hers, no, they aren’t,” she said. “There is some well-wisher out there who’s made it, I guess. Thank you for the love, but that isn’t her. She’s not on social media.”

How does Aishwarya view her own presence online?

Aishwarya also shared her personal approach to digital platforms. Her relationship with social media is functional rather than emotional; she uses it mostly to promote work, support collaborations, and stay professionally connected. While she acknowledged the usefulness of these platforms, she also noted how quickly they can consume attention.

“Social media is a part of life today,” she said. “There are positives—sharing your work, encouraging opportunities, and engaging professionally. But everybody is on their phone, and everybody gets consumed. That is our reality.”

Why does she emphasise staying grounded?

The actor spoke candidly about the subtle dangers of constant digital engagement. According to her, it is easy to drift away from authenticity when one begins to measure life through online interactions. She stressed the importance of periodically stepping back to regain perspective.

“It’s important to shut out the noise,” she said. “This cannot be the validation of your truth. If you find yourself getting lost in that, you need to detox, cut off, and get back in touch with your own reality.”

What does Aishwarya say about real-world engagement?

Aishwarya concluded with a reminder to prioritise in-person interactions over screen time. She highlighted how often people disconnect from those physically present while responding to something on their phones.

“Engage with people around you,” she said. “It’s all right if you’re not like my posts. Real-life connection is far more important.”

On the work front, Aishwarya was last seen in Ponniyin Selvan: II (2023).
