I request not to bring politics into it,” Sharad Pawar said while rejecting the allegations of politics involved in this incident.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee demands Supreme Court-monitored probe

In another reaction, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has demanded a Supreme Court-monitored probe into the death of Ajit Pawar, alleging that “all other agencies” have been “completely compromised”.

Stressing that the truth would not emerge through existing mechanisms, Banerjee said only a probe under the supervision of the Supreme Court would be credible.

“The loss caused by this incident cannot be easily compensated”, Sharad Pawar said in a video message.

“There is no politics involved here; it is purely an accident. The grief affects Maharashtra and all of us deeply. I appeal to everyone not to politicise this tragedy”, he added.

AAIB team reaches Baramati crash site to launch investigation

A team from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has reached the Baramati crash site to launch a forensic probe into the VSR Venture’s Learjet 45 aircraft accident that killed Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four others on Wednesday, a senior official was quoted as saying by PTI news agency report.

“The investigation team has reached the (crash) site. They are on the work,” the AAIB official told PTI. However, notably, the officer declined to share further details.
