All three terrorists occupied with an attack on an Army convoy near the Line of Keep an eye on (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor sector were neutralized in an anti-terror operation on Tuesday morning. This followed a fresh gunfight that erupted as security forces launched a final assault on the group, believed to be hiding in Jogwan village.

Undoubtedly one of many important terrorists, who had opened fire on an army ambulance on Monday, became killed later that evening in an operation led by special forces and NSG commandos. The remainder terrorists were cornered near the Assan temple in Khour, with intense gunfire and explosions marking the stumble upon on Tuesday.

The operation saw the Army utilizing four BMP-II infantry strive against vehicles for surveillance and reinforcement, together with helicopters and drones to track the militants’ location. Tragically, Phantom, a four-year-old Army dog, became fatally wounded at some point of the operation.

The stumble upon began around 7:25 am on Monday near the Shivassan temple in Battal’s Jogwan region. Reports from locals indicated heavily armed terrorists were within the Assan temple area in Khour’s Bhattal region, prompting a prompt search by Army and police forces. Earlier within the day, gunfire became heard as an Army ambulance passed through a close-by village, leading security forces to cordon off the area in an effort to stumble on and neutralise the infiltrators.
