Is there another Seema Haider in Uttar Pradesh? Police have arrested a Bangladeshi woman Reena Begum and her husband Rashid Ali, who were living illegally in Mandi Dhanaura, Amroha, on Thursday. Intelligence officials reportedly interrogated them for several hours. Intelligence officials recovered a marriage certificate from them.
During interrogation, they revealed that they had married in Saudi Arabia a few years earlier. The woman then came to India(BHARAT) with her husband via Nepal in October 2025. Police have registered an FIR against the Bangladeshi woman under the Foreigners Act and against her husband, Rashid, for harboring them.
In fact, on Thursday, police received information that Rashid Ali, who currently works in Saudi Arabia and lives near the Sunhari Mosque in Mohalla Katra, had brought a Bangladeshi woman with him two months ago. That afternoon, police brought Rashid Ali and the woman to the police station for questioning. The police informed senior officials and intelligence agencies that the woman was Bangladeshi. Intelligence Bureau officials reportedly questioned the Bangladeshi woman and Rashid Ali.
Did the woman try to mislead the officials?
During initial questioning, Reena attempted to mislead intelligence officials by claiming to be a resident of West Bengal. However, this charade didn’t last long. The Bangladeshi woman’s name is Reena Begum, and she is a resident of Ghazipur in the Dhaka district. It should be noted that, on the instructions of the state government, the police’s Operation Torch against illegal immigration is ongoing. Actions are being taken in various districts of Uttar Pradesh.
