Apple event 2025: iPhone 17 cases LEAKED ahead of launch, TechWoven, liquid silicon, crossbody strap and more, here’s what to expect

Apple is gearing up for its “Awe Dropping” event on September 9, where it is expected to unveil several new products. Along with the much-rumoured iPhone 17 series, the company may also introduce a fresh lineup of cases and accessories. In the past, Apple launched FineWoven cases with the iPhone 15, made from eco-friendly materials. But users complained that the cases scratched easily and looked worn out too quickly. Because of that, Apple quietly discontinued them.

This time, Apple is reportedly planning to launch TechWoven cases. According to leaks by tipster Majin But, the new cases will be made from synthetic fabric with a sturdier texture, making them more durable than FineWoven.

The upcoming iPhone 17 models are expected to come with TechWoven cases in several colour options for buyers to choose from.

iPhone 17 liquid silicon cases

Apple already sells silicone cases, but for the iPhone 17 series, it may introduce a new version called Liquid Silicon cases. The name seems to match the upcoming Liquid Glass theme in iOS 26.

It’s not yet clear how these will differ from the regular silicone cases, but leaks suggest they could be a cheaper alternative to the premium TechWoven designs. Apple is also expected to offer them in bright, bold colours.

iPhone 17 clear case redesign

Apple’s clear cases are usually simple, fully transparent, with only a small circle on the back to cover the MagSafe magnets. But this year, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max clear cases might look very different.

According to various reports, the new design will have a large white panel covering the bottom half of the back, hiding the magnets completely. The Apple logo will still be visible in its usual place.

There are also rumours of tinted clear cases, though these may not be revealed at launch. It’s uncertain if the standard iPhone 17 and 17 Air will adopt the same new design.

iPhone 17 crossbody strap

For the first time, Apple may add support for a lanyard or crossbody strap with the iPhone 17 series. According to leaks, all new cases will feature two small holes at the bottom to attach the strap.

Tipster Sonny Dickson has even shared images of a bright orange strap on X, which is said to match the rumoured orange colour option for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.
