Indian music maestro, AR Rahman taken aback the entertainment industry after her wife Saira Banu announced divorce after 29 years. The official statement came on Tuesday night when, Saira Banu’s advocate, Vandana Shah made their separation public.

The official statement read, “After a few years of marriage, Mrs. Saira has made the tough decision to become independent from her husband Mr. AR Rahman. This decision comes after significant emotional strain in their relationship. Despite their deep love for every other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one who neither party feels ready to bridge presently. Mrs. Saira requests privacy and figuring out from the final public the complete way through this challenging time.”

After the couple made the headlines on social media, AR Rahman’s son AR Ameen publicly addressed their parent’s divorce. Ameen on his Instagram story penned, “We kindly request everyone to respect our privacy the complete way through this time. Thank you for your figuring out.”

Rahman describes what kind of wife he wanted

Many may now now not know that AR Rahman asked his mother to search him for a “uncomplicated” wife who wouldn’t interfere with his passion for music. In one amongst his conversations with Simi Garewal, Rahman revealed that his mother had arranged a marriage for him. Rahman said, “To be honest, I didn’t have time to on the look for for a bride. I was busy with films, including Rangeela in Bombay. But I knew it used to be the best time to get married. I was 29 and told my mother, “In finding me a bride.'” The Oscar winner also mentioned to his mother that he wanted a wife who would toughen his passion for music.
