“We wanted to be self-deprecating, but not disrespectful anywhere,” Aryan said. “I think we maintained that line correctly. The guardrails were self-imposed because, when you’re part of the industry and making something about it, there’s a lot of respect. Taking a joke on yourself is the first and most important thing in comedy. People were extremely sporting, and we made sure never to push boundaries, only to laugh at ourselves.”
The show, which takes a satirical yet affectionate look at the Hindi film industry, became an instant hit on Netflix, earning Aryan appreciation for his distinct storytelling style and sharp humour.
