Big Breaking: Part of residential building collapses in Mumbai, several feared trapped
Several people were injured after a portion of a residential building collapsed in south Mumbai on Wednesday.

Mumbai: Several people sustained injuries as a portion of a residential building collapsed in south Mumbai on Wednesday. The structure collapsed at the Atmaram Building on JSS Road in the Chira Bazar area. According to Assistant Divisional Fire Officer VN Sangale, portion of the building collapsed at around 1 pm. “The building collapsed at around 1 pm and four fire engines immediately reached the spot…Some people have been injured and have been taken to the hospital…Rescue operation is underway,” news agency ANI quoted Sangale as saying.

Two elderly persons were injured in the incident, The Economic Times reported citing civic officials. Two residents, identified as – 75-year-old Thakkarji Gala and 71-year-old Gunvanti Gala were injured.
A police team, fire brigade and civic staff officials of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) were mobilised for rescue work.
