Bihar Assembly Election: Will AIMIM team up with RJD and Congress? Owaisi says can’t have ‘one-sided love affair’ in…
Asaduddin Owaisi asserted that the AIMIM would contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly election "to win".

Bihar Assembly Election: Amid speculations of AIMIM joining forces with Opposition INDIA bloc in Bihar assembly polls, its chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday expressed resentment over the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) cold response to the party’s request for an alliance, stating that politics cannot have a “one-sided love affair”.
Will AIMIM join INDIA bloc?
Talking to reporters in Purnea, Owaisi asserted that the AIMIM would contest the upcoming Bihar elections “to win”. “Our desire for a tie-up was not a sign of weakness. We will be contesting the elections to win. However, there can not be a one-sided love affair in politics. Such things look good only in movies, between characters of college-going boys and girls”, the Hyderabad MP said.
Earlier, Owaisi had voiced his displeasure over allegations of “helping the BJP” in Bihar, and said his party would join the INDIA bloc if it gets to contest six seats in the eastern state in the upcoming assembly polls.
“My party’s Bihar unit chief has written a number of letters to the Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly (Tejashwi Yadav). In the last letter, it has been requested that AIMIM be accommodated with six seats in elections to the 243-strong assembly,” he had told reporters in Kishanganj where he launched his three-day ‘Seemanchal Nyay Yatra’ on Wednesday.
“The ball is now in the court of the INDIA bloc. We made the move so that we do not face accusations of helping the BJP. A lack of proper response on the INDIA bloc’s part will make it clear who is actually helping the saffron party,” he added.
What Owaisi said on UP posters row?
Asaduddin Owaisi, who is touring Bihar’s Seemanchal region, which hosts a sizeable Muslim population was also asked about the row over “I love Muhammad” posters in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh.
“There is nothing objectionable in Muslims expressing reverence for their Prophet. I wonder what problem the BJP-RSS have? If they find the slogan I love Muhammad as anti-national, then it means they are opposed to love, per se. Although they may like to watch portrayals of love in the movies”, Owaisi responded.
The veteran politician noted that India(BHARAT)’s beauty lies in the country’s ability to allow different faiths to flourish, and our Constitution has guaranteed the freedom of religion to all citizens regardless of their faith.
“Muslims may not be in a majority in India(BHARAT) but they are here in larger numbers than in any other country in the entire sub-continent. The BJP-RSS combine is giving the country a bad name”, alleged Owaisi.
