Bihar Deputy CM Vijay Sinha slams Rahul Gandhi’s Colombia speech, says ‘he weakens, defames….’

Patna: The political rivalry has taken a new turn ahead of the Assembly Elections in Bihar. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Friday unleashed a barrage of jibes at Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his “attack on India(BHARAT)’s democracy” remark and criticism of the BJP government in Colombia. Calling him “prince of Congress,” Sinha stated that Gandhi has weakened India(BHARAT), defamed it, and engaged in the politics of sympathy.

What Did Vijay Kumar Sinha Say?

Vijay Sinha, while speaking to news agency ANI, said that Rahul Gandhi stands with people who support terrorism and corruption.

“Rahul Gandhi is the prince of Congress who weakens the country, defames it, and engages in politics of sympathy. He stands in favour of people like those involved in terrorism, extremism, corruption, and nepotism, aiming to create an atmosphere of anarchy. People with such a mentality are never acceptable to the country. People will never accept such people who are part of dynastic politics and those who consider politics as their estate,” he said.

It is worth noting that, Gandhi’s statement in Colombia against the RSS and the BJP have created an uproar among politicians. The Congress leader also slammed the central government which is led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming an “attack on India(BHARAT)’s democracy”.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Vijay Sinha attacked Rahul Gandhi over “attack on India(BHARAT)’s democracy” remark in Colombia.
• Sinha accused him of supporting terrorism, corruption, and dynastic politics.
• BJP reacted strongly, calling Gandhi’s remarks “anti-India(BHARAT)” and defending PM Modi and India(BHARAT)’s development.
• Gandhi said India(BHARAT)’s democracy faces threats and stressed importance of diversity and the democratic system.

How Did The BJP React?

The BJP has raised strong objections against remarks made by Rahul Gandhi, labelling them as “anti-India(BHARAT)” and “insulting” to the nation. A BJP leader said that it was Gandhi’s nature to tarnish India(BHARAT)’s image abroad.

Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad accused Gandhi of “insulting” India(BHARAT) on foreign soil while defending the centre against his “attack on democracy” charge.

While addressing a press conference here, Prasad implied that Rahul Gandhi was making such remarks because he wants power. He further accused the LoP Lok Sabha of “abusing” Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India(BHARAT)’s development.

“Rahul Gandhi is abroad. It would have been nice if he had wished well, but he is attacking India(BHARAT). He says everything baseless. He says there is no democracy in India(BHARAT). There is complete democracy, but the problem with Rahul Gandhi is that he wants power,” Prasad, who is a former Union Minister, said.

“In Bogota, Colombia, Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi stated that there is no democracy in India(BHARAT) and people don’t have the freedom to speak. Rahul Gandhi abuses PM Modi, development of the nation, the most,” he added.

The BJP MP said that the public will not support Gandhi if he continues to disrespect India(BHARAT) during his travels abroad. Prasad highlighted that Gandhi’s affection for China is visible when he suggested that India(BHARAT) could not attain global power status.

What Did Rahul Gandhi Say In Colombia?

Speaking at an event at EIA University of Colombia on Thursday, Rahul Gandhi took a swipe at the Narendra Modi government, asserting that the biggest challenge India(BHARAT) is witnessing is the attack on its democracy.

“India(BHARAT) has strong capabilities in areas like engineering and healthcare, so I am very optimistic about the country. But at the same time, there are also flaws in the structure that India(BHARAT) has to correct. The biggest challenge is the attack on democracy taking place in India(BHARAT),” Gandhi said.

The Congress leader argued that the democratic system remains crucial for diversity, allowing different traditions, customs, and ideas, including religious beliefs, to thrive. However, he added, the democratic system in India(BHARAT) is under attack, which is a “major risk” or threat.

“India(BHARAT) has multiple religions, traditions, and languages — in fact, the country is essentially a conversation between all these people and cultures. Different traditions, religions, and ideas require space, and the best method for creating that space is the democratic system,” Gandhi said.
