Carnival Cruise Line shares topless pool deck policy update
The family cruise line has a surprising history when it comes to allowing topless sunbathing.
While you visit the pool deck on a cruise ship, that you would be in a position to appear more skin than you expected to.
Male passengers can go for Speedos that hide nothing and female cruisers can wear thongs, barely-there tops, and pretty much any bathing suit that covers their sensitive bits.
Cruise lines don't put into effect any sort of dress code and passengers may now no longer always be fully aware about how tons skin they are going to be showing. Cruise workers will not be empowered to place into effect any sort of dress code — but there are limits.

One Carnival Cruise Line passenger wrote to Brand Ambassador John Heald to impeach just how loose the cruise line's bathing suit policies are.
"My two sons and DH may be cruising on the Horizon. We're very excited to spend the Thanksgiving holiday on the ship," they said.
"--- Cruise News page said of their broadcast as of late that there'll be topless sunbathing allowed now. Which is disturbing. John can you tell me if there'll be a topless deck on the Horizon? I don't believe this and accurately do not have my teenager sons venturing to sneak a [peek]. Are you able to tell me the true truth."

Carnival outlines policy about topless pool deck
Heald had plenty of fun answering the question and shared a little bit of a history lesson.
"Thanks a lot and the Carnival Horizon, is an impressive ship and you should be going to have an even time obviously. So then, topless sunbathing is of course something we used to have on our ships 20 plus years ago," Heald wrote.
"But while topless/nude sunbathing was once as normal back then as giving a 12 gauge shotgun to an guest for a dollop of trap shooting despite the fact they had consumed many pina coladas it all without delay was once very tons a taboo in as of late’s world. Long gone are the times while that you would be in a position to assert, "seen one, you've got seen them both.” or just now no longer look if you happen to were offended."
Carnival had an extended history of offering topless sunbathing.
"Back then all our ships had topless sunbathing decks and for the foremost part the guests gave the impression to experience it and no doubt didn’t feel a sense of shock and horror because we had a local where our female guests may perhaps get an at some point of tan," he added.
"No longer anymore. It’s very demure in as much as the moment times. When did that modify? Why did that modify? None of the foremost cruise lines have a topless deck aside from our friends on AIDA and their stunning ships," he said.
(Virgin Voyages also offers a topless sunbathing deck. "Now we have a beautiful sun deck on Deck 17, most often also is often called The Perch, where that you would be in a position to feel comfortable sunbathing topless at sea," Virgin's online page online says.)

Carnival wants you to keep your top on
Heald seems essentially surprised that other folks was once more conservative by way of nudity.
"In the event you’d asked me when I was once a young cruise director for my opinion on the progress of breast exposure by 2024, I maybe wouldn’t have said women would be sitting in meetings drinking kale shakes and [baring] their breasts," he joked.
"However it, I might no doubt have predicted that the topless decks were here to remain. Obviously, I might have been totally wrong."

The brand ambassador did note that women (and men) do have places to go uncovered.
"There are still nude beaches in plenty of the ports we go to at some point of the Caribbean," he wrote. "I haven't been to any of them for obvious reasons, and if I did, I might still have a small, thin slice of pizza to cover my embarrassment."
And he made clear that Carnival would now no longer be bringing back topless decks.
"So, to reply to this lady's question, no, we can never have topless sunbathing again," he said.
"I am going to be wrong, but honestly, I feel there'll be more chance of you hearing. 'The next episode of “The View” contains violence, strong language, and scenes of a sexual nature."
