China expressed shock over the Delhi bomb blast near Red Fort, extended condolences to victims’ families, and confirmed no Chinese nationals were affected as investigations continue under UAPA.

China expresses deep shock over Delhi Bomb Blast, Extends sympathy to Victims’ Families

China on Tuesday voiced its shock and extended its condolences after the blast in Delhi which killed 12 and injured many others on Monday. Chinese authorities have further extended support to those who were injured in the explosion, reported ANI. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said, “We have also taken note that no Chinese citizen has been killed so far. China expresses its condolences to the victims and their families, and we hope that the injured will recover soon.”

The blast took place in a car parked at a signal on Subhash Marg in the Red Fort area metro station on Monday evening. Nine people were killed and around others were injured in the explosion in the busy market area. Three others later died of their injuries taking the death toll to 12.

Beijing Spokesperson Lin Jian said, “China expresses its sincere sympathies to the victims and their families, and we hope that the injured will recover soon,”. “We have also taken note that no Chinese citizen has been killed so far,” he added.

The Delhi Police have registered a case in connection with the blast under several sections including the UAPA and investigations are on to find out the perpetrators and their motive.
