CM Yogi approves irrigation projects worth Rs 394.53 crore in UP
CM Yogi, while addressing the officers at a review meeting of the irrigation and water resources department, announced 95 new projects.
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, on Wednesday approved new projects in the state while addressing the officers at a review meeting of the irrigation and water resources department. He also directed the officials that the quality of the construction work should not be compromised.
What did CM Yogi announce?
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath approved over 90 new projects. The cost of these projects is around Rs. 394.53 crore. The main objective is to solidify the canal system and support irrigation on the 36,000 hectares of land.
The move is expected to benefit almost nine lakh farmers and communities belonging to rural areas in the state. Alongside, over 270 hectares of land belonging to the irrigation department will be conserved.
CM Yogi’s directions for officials
CM directed the officials to review the projects for flood management and begin the work related to controlling floods in January. The CM guided the officials to collaborate with public representatives and build an action plan.
