Coimbatore SHOCKER! Man kills wife over suspected affair, posts chilling selfie with woman’s body as WhatsApp status
The woman, police said, was working at a private firm in Coimbatore, and was living in a private women's hostel following separation from her husband.
A shocking incident took place in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, where a man killed his estranged wife and then took a selfie with her body. The accused, 32-year-old S Balamurugan, had been living separately from his wife, 30-year-old S Sirpriya. He was angry because he believed she was having an affair with one of his relatives.
Police said the couple had argued over the phone earlier on Sunday. Later, Balamurugan went to the women’s hostel where Sirpriya was staying. He met her in the waiting area and attacked her with a sickle, which led to her death.
After the murder, Balamurugan sat next to her body and took a selfie. He reportedly uploaded the photo on his WhatsApp status with the caption: “The payment for betrayal is death,” according to an India(BHARAT) Today report.
Sirpriya and Balamurugan had been living separately for some time, and their two children had moved to her mother’s house in Coimbatore after shifting from Tirunelveli. “She left her children with her mother and moved into a private women’s hostel while working in a store,” a Coimbatore police officer told Hindustan Times.
Sirpriya was employed at a private firm in the city and stayed in the same hostel where the incident happened. The attack caused panic among the residents, and several women ran out in fear when the accused stabbed his estranged wife.
A case has been registered, and the Rathinapuri Police are currently investigating the matter.
