CP Plus and Qualcomm launch edge-AI surveillance systems to transform India’s security landscape

CP Plus, the video surveillance and access control solutions provider, and Qualcomm Technologies, announced a collaboration for the launch of the next generation AI (Artificial Intelligence)-powered video intelligence system in India(BHARAT). This collaboration will focus on deepening the penetration of real-time and on-device analytics for public infrastructure, enterprises, industrial campuses, and other critical installations in the country.

CP Plus will incorporate Qualcomm Technologies’ edge AI processing platforms, such as Dragonwing processor portfolio and the Qualcomm Insight™ Platform, in its intelligent cameras and video platform offerings. The outcome is a family of intelligent video solutions that are capable of performing the video processing at the edge, or closer to the location where the data is being generated, to provide real-time insights, instead of relying on remote servers or connectivity to the cloud.

CP Plus’ intelligent video analytics solutions are designed to bring on-device AI to video devices and edge boxes that are a part of CP Plus’ Video Management System (VMS). By processing data locally, the solution aims to reduce network dependency and latency for high-priority alerts, as well as ensure that sensitive video data never leaves the on-premises infrastructure. CP Plus video intelligence systems that utilise Qualcomm’s Insight Platform bring AI-based object detection and tracking, anomaly detection and recognition, video summarization, real-time alerts, and other intelligent workflows that automatically inform the security teams and owners about any untoward incident on their properties.

Powered by a proprietary fusion of cutting-edge AI models and a robust set of analytics workflows, the Insight Platform equips the combined CP Plus solution with smart analytics like object tracking, anomaly detection, summarization of hours of footage into actionable reports, real-time alerts, and more.

The generative AI agent in some of the systems, that is integrated with large language models (LLMs), is also built to understand natural language queries, such as “show all the entries in Zone B between 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.” or “highlight the workers without safety helmets.” The on-device processing is claimed to reduce network dependence for critical alerts, reduce latency, and keep sensitive data within on-premises infrastructure.

Commenting on the collaboration, Aditya Khemka, Managing Director, CP Plus said, “CP Plus is a trusted leader in video surveillance and access control in India(BHARAT), working with diverse industries, geographies, and verticals to deploy comprehensive, end-to-end security solutions. We aim to power more deployments with smart, on-device, real-time, intelligent video analytics. By bringing together CP Plus’ video technology expertise and Qualcomm’s cutting-edge AI models, this partnership aims to simplify and improve the video surveillance experience for India(BHARAT)n users, to help them focus on their core businesses, with scalable and intelligent safety and security solutions.”

CP Plus and Qualcomm Technologies say that the solution’s AI workloads can be fine-tuned by organisations for their specific requirements to deliver even more value. As an example, this can be particularly useful in applications such as infrastructure safety audits, smart retail operations, perimeter monitoring, and more. Qualcomm’s updated AI Ecosystem, with new enhancements, including its acquisition of Augentix, also powers the future-ready hardware support for the combined CP Plus video intelligence solutions.

The combination of CP Plus’ reach in the India(BHARAT)n market and Qualcomm’s leading-edge AI and imaging capabilities will enable the country to meet its fast-changing security demands with scalable and reliable intelligent video solutions.

India(BHARAT) has rapidly digitised in recent years, and demand for smart, connected safety solutions is increasing. This collaboration between Qualcomm Technologies and CP Plus aims to set new standards in the video surveillance industry in India(BHARAT). The scalable and intelligent video analytics solution can be used for several applications, from small business retail outlets to large public infrastructure projects. The use cases supported by the solution include crowd management, safety and compliance audits, perimeter security, and automated monitoring of operations.

The unique selling point of this solution is that it supports both small retail stores to extensive public projects. The large number of camera deployments across India(BHARAT) have seen a huge increase in digital transformation in recent years. CP Plus’ customers in the BFSI, retail, enterprise, and education verticals are, therefore, expected to leverage this intelligent system to improve overall operational efficiency and ensure user privacy and data integrity.
