Bengaluru: Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been in the headlines for more than 10 days and the Karnataka police are continuously finding new leads in the alleged murder of the 33-year-old Renukaswamy. In a new development, the police recovered a sum of Rs 78 lakhs that the Sandalwood actor used for bribing and hiding the proof of the case. Scroll down to find more details.

Over Rs 78 Lakhs  was Recovered to Settle The Renukaswamy Murder Case

The Karnataka police are contemplating notifying the Income Tax Department regarding a matter involving Darshan that might raise eyebrows. This situation arose after the police uncovered a sum of approximately Rs 78.4 lakh from several locations, including Darshan’s house and those of his affiliated persons tied to the Renukaswamy murder case. A senior police officer indicated that a sum of Rs 37.4 lakh was discovered at Darshan’s residence on June 19th. Additionally, Rs 3 lakh was identified at the home of Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi. The officer suggests that it appears Darshan transferred the substantial amount to his wife, Vijayalakshmi, after brutally murdering Renukaswamy.

The Kamakshipalya police reported that out of four individuals working closely with Darshan were detained. Two of these individuals had their hands greased with Rs 5 lakh each from Darshan, while the remaining two were given promises of their kins receiving the money once they were jailed. The cops revealed the recovery of Rs 10 lakh from this pair of suspects. The rest of the stash was unearthed at Pradosh’s abode, a close friend of Darshan, who is now under arrest linked to this case.

A report from the Times of India indicated that a sum of Rs. 70.4 lakh was recovered in the case involving crime cover-up and evidence eradication. Darshan confessed that he borrowed Rs. 40 lakh from his friend to grapple with the legal complications stemming from the serious allegations of murder and evidence tampering.

Do you know DCP Girish has been leading the Renukaswamy murder case?

Girish, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Vijayanagar, along with Chandan Kumar and Police Commissioner B Dayananda, have received praises from a senior IPS official. This commendation goes out due to their noteworthy contributions to a crucial case. The officer added, “If not for this dynamic officer, the truth in the case would have been buried. Daring to pick a leading and influential film star on charges of murder requires courage (sic).”

The high-profile case began with Renukaswamy’s murder and four culprits voluntarily confessed, owning up to their deadly act. A news report by Economic Times India read, “Look at the sequence of events here: there was a murdered person and four guys who walked into the station owning up to the crime. The station-level officers believed the cooked-up story and chose to close the case. But Girish wasn’t convinced (sic).”

Digging deep into the matter, Girish and Chandan discovered that the four individuals were merely pawns, having no direct links to Renukaswamy. Their search led them to Vinay V, the proprietor of a local eatery in RR Nagar. Vinay made it clear that Darshan took offense to Renukaswamy’s virtual comments about Pavithra Gowda, which led to Renukaswamy being subjected to inhumane treatment at Darshan’s insistence. CCTV footage retrieved by the police hinted at vehicles connected to Darshan near the scene of the incident.

In spite of the reputable status in the Sandalwood industry and influential ties of the actor, Girish and his team undertook a secret mission to capture Darshan. At the helm of the operation was ACP Chandan Kumar, who led a squad to a Mysuru hotel where Darshan had been staying. Chandan found Darshan at the gym and gently persuaded him to accompany the police. Acknowledging the untidy circumstance, Darshan expressed, “I see the chaos. Go ahead, I’ll follow in my own car.” However, Chandan insisted on him leaving immediately with them instead. Ultimately, Darshan complied, and they escorted him back to Bengaluru.

When Darshan was arrested, it sparked a wave of intense pressure on the police to release him. Despite various efforts made to free him, his arrest’s TV broadcast only complicated matters. The unanticipated promptness of the police action left both the actor and his fans stunned. This quick action effectively diminished any possibilities for his immediate release.
