Veteran Bollywood actor, Nana Patekar, sadly had to go through the devastating loss of his firstborn, Durvasa, who was only two and a half years old. Nana Patekar Expresses Concern Over the Loss of His Son

The 73-year-old actor, opened up about his loss during a conversation with The Lallantop. He said, “My eldest son was sick since birth. He had some health complications. He had trouble in one eye, it wasn’t visible (sic).”Nana seemed more concerned about what other people might think of his son’s looks, rather than focusing on his own capability to deal with the situation. He further added, “I felt so disgusted that when I saw him, I thought about what people would think, what kind of son Nana has. I didn’t think about what he felt or how he felt. I only thought about what people would think about my son (sic).”

Nana, with a heavy heart, expressed his sorrow and mused, “We knew him as Durvasa and he lived among us for two and a half years. However, certain incidents in life take place that are simply out of our hands (sic).”

Nana Patekar Not Being on ‘Welcome 3’

The actor indulged in an array of discussions during the interview. The heated accusations levelled by fellow actor, Tanushree Dutta, during the course of the MeToo movement came up and so did his absence from ‘Welcome 3’, a part of the blockbuster series alongside Anil Kapoor. The actor, boasting three national awards to his name in a career spanning nearly five decades, didn’t shy away from sprinkling a bit of sarcasm when quizzed about his absence in ‘Welcome to The Jungle’. With a hint of good-natured humor, he quipped, “I am not part of it, they likely think I’m passé (they might feel I lack contemporary relevance) (sic).”

He further added, “Nahin, mujhe maaloom tha jab aisa kuch hai hi nahin (No, I always knew nothing like that ever existed) “Mujhe nahin gussa aaya (I never got angry). I am not bothered by it. Kuch hua hi nahi tha (nothing happened), I don’t know what it was about. Kuch hua hota toh hum batate. All of a sudden koi kehta hai aapne aisa kiya, hum kya kehte, humne nahi kiya? Iske alawa kya kehte (I would have talked if something had actually happened. What am I supposed to say when someone starts accusing me one day? I haven’t done it. What is there to say except for this?) (sic).”

In 2019, after serious investigations into Tanushree’s 2018 accusations, the Mumbai police exonerated Nana Patekar, remarking that there wasn’t enough supportive evidence to uphold her claims.
