Now, speaking to Harper’s Bazaar India(BHARAT), Deepika Padukone revealed that she has been offered a lot of money for films in the past, but she has tried to be more thoughtful and choose work that reflects her true self. When asked about her priorities at work, she said, “The only non-negotiable thing is authenticity, which I don’t like. Sometimes people offer a lot of money and think it’s enough, but it’s not, and the opposite is also true… Some things can’t be commercially big… I’m happy that I prioritized good work over money.”
What did Deepika say about the 10-year-old decision?
She further added that this clarity didn’t come overnight. The actress said, “She may have had similar thoughts before, but experience has strengthened her conviction. Was I always this clear? Maybe not, but I’ve reached that clarity now. Do I sometimes look back and think, what was I thinking? It’s part of learning. Maybe 10 years from now, I’ll question some of the choices I made today, but right now, these seem like very honest decisions.”

The ‘Global India(BHARAT)n’ is now gearing up for the release of her upcoming film, “King,” which also stars Shah Rukh Khan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film marks her sixth full-fledged collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan, with whom she made her Bollywood debut in 2007’s “Om Shanti Om.”
