Delhi Blast update: PM Modi says ‘those responsible will be brought to justice’

Thimphu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday condemned the Delhi blast in the harshest possible words and vowed that the people responsible for the explosion, in which nine people were killed, would be brought to justice. He stated that the national security agencies are on high alert and working round-the-clock to nab the perpetrators.

Delhi Blast: What Did PM Modi Say?

While addressing a gathering in Thimphu, the Prime Minister stated that the conspirators behind this will not be spared

“Today, I come here with a very heavy heart. The horrific incident that took place in Delhi yesterday evening has deeply saddened everyone. I understand the grief of the affected families. The entire nation stands with them today. I was in touch with all the agencies investigating this incident throughout last night. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice,” PM Modi said.

On Monday evening, PM Modi had expressed his condolences to the family members of those who lost their lives. The PM took to X and informed that he reviewed the situation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, wishing a speedy recovery of people injured in the explosion.

PM Modi Bhutan Visit

The Prime Minister arrived in Bhutan on Tuesday for a two-day visit. He is scheduled to attend the 70th birthday celebrations of the fourth king of the country – Jigme Singye Wangchuck.

The PM hoped his visit to the Himalayan nation would “deepen our bonds of friendship and strengthen our efforts towards shared progress and prosperity”.

PM Modi, on his X account, informed that he will be “holding talks with His Majesty the King of Bhutan, His Majesty the Fourth King, and Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay.”

“In a big boost to our energy partnership, the Punatsangchhu-II hydropower project will be inaugurated. This visit will add new vigour to our bilateral relations,” PM Modi’s post read.

Delhi Blast: What Did Amit Shah Say?

Reacting on the explosion that took nine lives, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that “all possibilities” were being explored, promising a thorough probe into the incident.

The Delhi Police lodged a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Kotwali Police Station.

All the security agencies are on high alert and are investigating the incident to determine its cause and motive.
