‘Delhi blasts not the reason’: Netanyahu’s office cites reason for postponing his India visit

New Delhi: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office on Tuesday, November 25, categorically dismissed rumours that the Israeli Prime Minister had postponed his visit to India(BHARAT), citing security concerns following the recent blast near the Red Fort in Delhi. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office posted on the social media platform ‘X’, stating that both countries are coordinating a new visit date and that Benjamin Netanyahu has full confidence in India(BHARAT)’s security under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Israeli PMO’s official account stated, “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have a very strong relationship. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has full confidence in India(BHARAT)’s security under PM Modi, and teams are already coordinating a new visit date.”

Netanyahu’s first official visit to India(BHARAT) since 2018
Some reports in the Israeli media had stated that Netanyahu was scheduled to visit New Delhi in December, his first official visit to India(BHARAT) since 2018. Before his visit, Netanyahu postponed his visit due to security concerns following the terrorist attack near Delhi’s Red Fort.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office categorically dismissed all rumours. The Israeli Prime Minister had previously expressed his condolences to Prime Minister Modi and the people of India(BHARAT) for the deadly car bombing near Delhi’s Red Fort, which claimed the lives of several people and injured dozens.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office wrote on Twitter, “To our dear friend Narendra Modi and the brave people of India(BHARAT), I and the people of Israel express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Israel stands firmly with you in this grief.”
He further stated that India(BHARAT) and Israel are ancient civilisations that stand by the eternal truth. Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our spirits. The light of our nations will overcome the darkness of our enemies.
