New Delhi: Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Birthday celebration (AAP) leader Kailash Gahlot announced his resignation from the celebration’s primary membership on Sunday, citing serious concerns about the celebration’s current direction. He stated that internal challenges and the growing give attention to political ambitions in the celebration have overshadowed its foundational commitment to public service.
He highlighted the unfulfilled promise of cleaning the Yamuna River, which remains more polluted than ever and expressed concern over controversies the image of the ‘Sheeshmahal’ issue, which, he said, have led people to impeach whether AAP still upholds its commitment to being a celebration of the “Aam Aadmi.”
In a letter to AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday, shared on X(in the past Twitter), Gahlot wrote, “Political ambitions have overtaken our commitment towards people, leaving many promises unfulfilled. Take as an instance the YAMUNA, which we had promised to seriously change into a clean river, but never got around to doing it.
