A man in Delhi's Uttam Nagar allegedly tricked his lover to consume abortion pills, and later stabbed her multiple times after she confronted him for terminating her pregnancy without her consent.

Delhi man stabs lover after forced abortion
As per the police, the victim, Neha (35), who lives in a rented apartment in Om Vihar locality of Uttam Nagar, had been in a relationship with the accused, Yashpal (43)– who is already married, for the last eight to nine years.
In her complaint, Neha told the police that she got pregnant with Yashpal’s child in November, and without her consent or knowledge, Yashpal slipped abortion pills in her beverage, leading to termination of her pregnancy.
Yashpal’s deceit led to frequents arguments between the couple, and on December 16, during another heated exchange, Yashpal pinned her down to the bed, and tried to murder her by stabbing her multiple times in the neck with a knife before fleeing the spot, Neha told the police, adding that he also took her phone and locked the house from the outside while making his way out.
Victim hospitalised, accused arrested
However, luckily for Neha, she was able to raise an alarm before losing consciousness, leading to a neighbour alerting the police and rushing her to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment, an officer said. “A call regarding the stabbing was received at 12.24 am. However, by the time a team reached the spot, the injured woman had already been taken to the hospital,” he said.
Police said Neha suffered suffered multiple stab injuries of varying sizes around her neck, besides abrasions on her hands and chest, adding that the doctors noted nose bleeding and loss of consciousness at the time of admission.
A case was registered against Yashpal– a security guard by profession– under Section 109 (Attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and he was arrested on Saturday.
“The accused was produced before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody. Further investigation is underway,” the police said.
