The wind speed will decrease, becoming less than 05 kmph from the southeast direction during the evening and night,” IMD in its press release stated.

The minimum temperatures will be above normal (1.5 to 3.5°C), and the maximum temperatures will be above normal (2.3 to 4.3°C) over Delhi. The predominant surface wind is likely to be from the southeast direction associated with wind speeds up to 05 kmph during the morning hours. The wind speed will increase, becoming up to 15 kmph from the east in the afternoon and continuing to prevail till evening/night, IMD stated.

The Met Centre, Lucknow, has issued red and orange alerts for several districts. Meteorological officials attributed the situation to the influence of westerly winds passing through north India(BHARAT). As a result, maximum temperatures in several areas fell significantly below normal over the past 72 hours, while minimum temperatures remained largely unchanged.
Lucknow recorded a sharp fall in day temperature on Friday, with the maximum settling at 15.5 degrees Celsius, which is 7.5 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature stood at 10.4 degrees Celsius, 2.3 degrees above normal, the meteorological department said, PTI reported. Relative humidity in the state capital remained high, with maximum humidity recorded at 97 per cent and minimum at 78 per cent. No rainfall was recorded in Lucknow during the period from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, the department said. As per PTI report, the weather office said dense fog is very likely during late night and early morning hours in Lucknow and adjoining areas, while the sky is expected to remain mainly clear during the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 20 and 11 degrees Celsius, respectively.

While talking to news agency ANI, Sandeep Kumar Sharma, Senior Scientist at the IMD’s Meteorological Centre in Shimla, said that the weather across most parts of the state remained largely clear over the past 24 hours, though intermittent cloud cover was observed.”Temperatures have largely remained near normal,” Sharma said, adding that the highest maximum temperature was recorded at Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district at 24°C.
