In May 2025, the Supreme Court allowed the government to revoke the protected status of 3.5 lakh immigrants of Venezuela. This came as “the largest single action in modern U.S. history to strip a non-citizen group of their immigration status.”

According to the data from NBC News, over 10,000 deportations happened in the month of February, followed by a continuous increase until April’s figures, which exceeded 15,000.
