Dev Anand was madly in love with this actress, was jealous, heartbroken when Raj Kapoor kissed her publicly

Dev Anand used to be many of the iconic actors in the ’60s and ’70s. He did over a hundred movies worldwide his career, and he has given a break to a few actors to boot. Interestingly, he used to be also in love with one in every of the actors he introduced to the film industry. In his autobiography, Romancing With Life, he mentioned how he fell in love with his co-actor and used to be left heartbroken after an incident.

Dev Anand talked in regards to the time he fell in love

Dev Anand gave Zeenat Aman her big break in 1971 with Hare Rama Hare Krishna. Dev Anand had developed feelings for her by the time they were working together in Satyam Shivam Sundaram in 1978. The actor then decided to admit his love in a romantic setting. On the other hand, his dreams were crushed when he witnessed Zeenat Aman interacting with Raj Kapoor at an event they both attended.

Dev Anand used to be left heartbroken and sad

In his autobiography, the actor wrote, “All directly, in the end I felt I used to be once desperately in love with Zeenat… And desired to assert to her! To make an honest confession, at an extraordinarily special, exclusive place meant for love. I chose the Rendezvous on the Taj, on top of town, where we had dined together once earlier.”

He mentioned that after the premiere of Ishk Ishk Ishk at Metro Cinema, Raj Kapoor publicly kissed Zeenat Aman to congratulate her on her stellar performance in the movie. Dev Anand admitted that he felt jealous of Raj Kapoor. He in the same fashion mentioned that the manner Zeenat Aman returned Raj Kapoor’s embrace appeared greater than simply a polite gesture. He also hinted that Raj Kapoor had expressed disappointment in Zeenat Aman for now not adhering to a promise she had made to always wear a white saree when accompanying him. Later, he quietly left the event.

The actress refuted any romantic involvement with Raj Kapoor

On greater than one occasions, Zeenat Aman had addressed these claims and denied any sort of romantic involvement with Raj Kapoor. Some years ago, at an event hosted by Algebra Conversations, she expressed her respect for Dev Anand. She mentioned that he used to be the one who made her a movie superstar. On the other hand, she clarified that Dev Anand’s recollection of that evening used to be entirely different from hers.

She explained that, in the intervening time, she used to be working on a few films with Dev Anand, who regarded her as his student. Simultaneously, she used to be also collaborating with Raj Kapoor, who had mentioned he may be at a selected location. Since Dev Anand used to be also present, Zeenat Aman went over to greet Raj Kapoor, as he used to be her co-superstar. She admitted she had no idea what Dev Anand made of that moment. To her, it felt odd, and she had no concept that he used to be planning to admit his love or propose marriage. Briefly, she used to be completely ignorant of his feelings.
