Delhi Man Kills Family: A shocking and tragic incident has emerged from Delhi, where a man allegedly strangled his family to death after feeding them poisonous dhatura. The incident occurred in Laxmi Nagar when the man walked into the Laxmi Nagar Police Station and confessed to killing his family members. Police later found the bodies of three victims – his mother, sister, and younger brother – at his house.

What Exactly Happened?

During the interrogation, the accused man confessed to the crime and revealed how he killed his family members. The man also revealed that he had committed suicide five times so that his family receive insurance money, but failed.

A day before the crime, the accused allegedly had a brawl with his mother. His mother, during the heated argument, told him to kill the family first if he ever intended to end his life.

The Crime

25-year-old Yashveer Singh lost his job six months ago. He was working as a private driver. His father, who is a truck driver, left the family and Yashveer took all the responsibility of the family. His mother Kavita (46), sister Meghana (24), brother Mukul (14), and wife are all dependent on him as he was the sole bread earner of the family.

Yashveer sent his wife to her maternal home a day before the incident.

On Sunday, the accused picked dhatura seeds from a Shiv Mandir which is located near the Yamuna Bank Metro Station. He then prepared laddoos using flour and sugar. According to the police, the accused man then fed his family the poisonous laddoos. When the victims were unconscious, he allegedly strangled them with a scarf.

Yashveer had been facing marital discord with his wife. A day before the Laxmi Nagar mass killing, he sent her to her maternal home.

Arguments And Suicide Attempts

On the day of the incident, the accused had a heated argument with his mother. “He stated that on Sunday his mother confronted him and told him that if he intended to end his life, he should first kill all family members and then face the consequences,” police said.

His mother was hurt and angered over his suicide attempts in the past.

The accused allegedly took a life insurance policy of around Rs 1.5 crore and tried to kill himself 4-5 times in the last 2 months.

Police said that the accused staged accidents, got himself bitten by a poisonous snake and even injected air, but failed each time.

Police is investigating the case and further details are awaited.
