Donald Trump leaves for Middle East, issues Big Statement ahead of Hamas hostage release, US President says ‘War Is…’
Hamas will release the final 48 hostages, including about 20 believed to be alive, the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel

New Delhi: US President Doland Trump on Monday, before leaving for a high-stakes peace mission to Israel and Egypt, said that the war between Israel and Hamas is over. “The war is over. Okay? You understand that?” President Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One when asked if he was confident the fighting had ended.
When asked whether he is confident that the ceasefire agreement would hold, Trump said he did. “I think it is going to hold. There are a lot of reasons why it’s going to hold. But I think people are tired of it. It’s been centuries… I think people are tired of it,” the US President said.
On rebuilding Gaza, the President said humanitarian priorities would take precedence but promised swift action. “You have to get people taken care of first, but it’s going to start, really, essentially immediately,” he said. “Over the years, it’ll look very good. It’s got the first chance it has had in centuries,” Trump said.

It is important to note that the statement came soon after he set off for Israel and Egypt on Sunday to celebrate the US-brokered ceasefire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas.
As per the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, Hamas will release the final 48 hostages, including about 20 believed to be alive, the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, a surge of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and a partial pullback by Israeli forces from Gaza’s main cities.
