DoorDash has a controversial warning for users who don't tip in advance
If you aren't a fan of tipping, you will be less than thrilled by this announcement.
DoorDash app users will now encounter a pop-up notification that warns them that their food may get cold if they fail to tip the driver delivering their order in advance.
If users enter $0 as the tip amount, a prompt pops up on the app saying: “Orders with no tip might take longer to get delivered – are you sure you want to continue? Dashers can pick and choose which orders they want to do. Orders that take longer to be accepted by Dashers tend to result in a slower delivery.”

The pop-up gives users the option to continue with or without adding a tip. Users also have the opportunity to add a tip while the driver is still working on their order 30 minutes after it's delivered.
Feedback from consumers about the new notification have been divided, with some X (formerly Twitter) users saying that tipping should be mandatory, and others saying that DoorDash should pay their workers more.
Not wanting to tip door dash drivers and still wanting fast service is actually insane. You deserve cold food every single time.—
