Elite forces, commandos, AI, facial recognition, snipers, jammers, drones, and more; unparalleled 5-layer security in place for President Putin’s Delhi visit
Of the five layers of security, the Russian Presidential Security will handle the inner layers, while the NSG and Delhi Police will be part of the outer layers of security.
New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin is visiting India(BHARAT) on December 4 and 5 for the twenty-third India(BHARAT)-Russia Annual Summit. During this visit, the two countries will hold extensive talks on trade, defense, and energy cooperation, and discuss political, economic, scientific, and cultural issues. President Putin is coming to India(BHARAT) at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Highest-ranked security personnel from Russia have reached Delhi
President Putin is one of the highly protected heads of state in the world, and the Ukraine war has added more responsibilities to the security curriculum of the Russian President’s security. Keeping these aspects in view, both Russia and India(BHARAT) are working to provide the highest level of security to the President. To provide top security during the action-packed itinerary, more than 50 elite security personnel from Russia have reached Delhi beforehand, say the sources.
Unprecedented security, including a five-layer security ring
Russia’s Presidential Security Service and India(BHARAT)’s National Security Guard (NSG) have provided the required regimen for the purpose, which includes highly trained personnel, top commandos, snipers, drones, jammers, and AI monitoring. Altogether, there will be a five-layer security ring for President Vladimir Putin.
Putin is expected to land in Delhi on the evening of Thursday, 4 December, after which he will join Prime Minister Modi for dinner. He will receive a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan the day after. On Friday, 5 December, he will visit Raj Ghat to pay his respects to Mahatma Gandhi. From there, he will attend the summit at Hyderabad House and an event at Bharat Mandapam, followed by a banquet hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Officials from Russia, Delhi Police, and NSG to keep a hawk eye
The security personnel from Russia and officials of Delhi Police and the NSG are sanitising every route through which the Russian President’s convoy will pass. A control room has been set up, which will constantly monitor the convoy using specialised drones. Everyone in the security detail will be in constant touch with the control room. Snipers have been placed on the entire stretch of the route. Apart from this, jammers, AI monitoring and facial recognition cameras have been activated to give more support to the security apparatus.
Of the five layers of security, the Russian Presidential Security will handle the inner layers, while the NSG and Delhi Police will be part of the outer layers of security. When the two leaders are together, commandos from the Special Protection Group (SPG), which protects the Prime Minister, will join the inner security ring.
Hotel ITC Maurya, in which Putin will stay, has been converted into a fortress and thoroughly sanitised.
