Epstein Files: At least 16 files, including Donald Trump’s photo, removed from US Department of Justice website… What was file 468 all about?

A new controversy has emerged in the United States in connection to the release of Jeffrey Epstein’s files. The Democratic Party has alleged Department of Justice (DOJ), under the President Doland Trump administration, removed a photo of President Trump that appeared in the Epstein files. The photo, referenced as file number 468, allegedly depicts Trump in compromising clothing with a woman.

Additionally, a number of media outlets have reported that at least 16 files have disappeared from the DOJ’s website following their release. No clear explanation has been made available to substantiate the removal of these photos. On the social networking site X, the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee raised concerns about the deleted photograph of Trump. Taking to X, oversight Democrats wrote, “This photo, file 468, from the Epstein files that includes Doland Trump has apparently now been removed from the DOJ release. @AGPamBondi is this true? What else is being covered up? We need transparency for the American public.”

The files that were published on Friday had been taken from the Department of Justice(DOJ) website within 24 hours of being made public. On Friday, the Department of Justice released documents that allegedly depict a desk containing photo albums and other information, including an image of Doland Trump posing with women, at least one of whom was wearing a bikini, as per the media reports. There was also a second blurred image of Doland Trump, Melania Trump, and Ghislaine Maxwell, who was a close associate of Jeffrey Epstein, taken in 2000 at Mar-a-Lago, prior to Donald and Melania’s marriage. The files disappeared from the website by Saturday.

The DOJ has not explained why it removed the documents nor has it said whether they were intentionally removed. White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told The Independent that the Trump administration was the most transparent in history when asked about the apparent removal of the photograph of the president.

“By releasing thousands of pages of documents, cooperating with the House Oversight Committee’s subpoena request, and President Trump recently calling for further investigations into Epstein’s Democrat friends, the Trump Administration has done more for the victims than Democrats ever have,” Abigail Jackson was quoted as saying by The Independent.

Numerous images in Epstein’s files were released without labels or context; however, a photo included in his files does not mean that someone has done something illegal or had criminal connections. However, on the opposite side of this, Democrats have accused the Department of Justice of not meeting their statutory obligation to release all documents within the legal deadline (30 days after the president’s signature) and of heavily editing the content.

Democrats have slammed the Trump administration of “one of the biggest cover ups in American history,” as reported by The Independent. Taking to X, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stated,” This is what Susie Wiles meant when she said Trump and Epstein were ‘young, single playboys together.”
