Damage caused at Surajkund Fair in Faridabad
ANI reported that one police inspector has died in the tragic incident, leaving almost 12 people injured. The SHO of Surajkund Police Station told ANI, “The joyride collapsed, and one of our police inspectors died. He was trying to save the people when the joyride collapsed from the other end. Further investigation is being done. A case will be registered, and action will be taken against those who are responsible for this.”
Later, Haryana Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma also arrived at the spot, who told ANI, “This is an unfortunate incident. Haryana Govt, District Administration, Police Administration, Mela Administration, Tourism Department – our thoughts are with the affected families. One death has been reported. Inspector Jagdish Prasad, who was posted in Palwal and who was on duty here, died while trying to save people. Two women constables are also injured. So, about 12 people are injured. They have minor injuries but 2-3 others have major injuries…”
