Known for his powerful performances in both television and films, actor Sanand Verma, popularly known as Saxena in “Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain,” recently shared an experience from his past. He recounted how actor Gulshan Grover had actually slapped him in the web series, a fact he wasn’t fully prepared for. What exactly happened?
Sanand Verma and Gulshan Grover collaborated on the web series First Copy. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Sanand said, “Gulshan Grover slapped me really hard. Deep inside, I felt like slitting his throat, but I didn’t say anything. This is the first time I’m talking about it openly. He did it intentionally; it wasn’t acting.” The actor further explained that it wasn’t a staged slap and no one warned him. He said, “If they had warned me, I would have been prepared for a real slap. But I didn’t feel anything; I stayed in character, completed the scene, and left without any reaction.”
When the host asked if a warning was necessary before the actual slap, Sanand said, “It’s very important to warn. But he didn’t say anything and slapped me hard. It was wrong. I was very angry, but I didn’t react because I wanted to avoid negativity. I even felt like picking up a chair and hitting him, but I smiled and endured it.”
Comparison with Anil Kapoor’s style
Sanand compared Gulshan Grover’s actions to Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, saying, “I’ve heard that Anil Kapoor also slaps people, but he always apologizes and expresses his sympathy afterward. But Gulshan ji didn’t do that. He’s a self-absorbed person and does it to maintain his bad guy image.”
