‘Final outcome is…’: Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar reacts to NDA’s landslide win, says his father’s vision…

Bihar Assembly Election Results 2025: In his first reaction to the NDA’s landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly Election, Nishant Kumar, the son of Janata Dal-United (JDU) supremo and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, said the poll results were “better than expected”, asserting that the historic mandate is the result of his father’s track record and vision to take the state to new heights.

What Nishant Kumar said about Bihar results?

Talking to reporters in Patna, Nishant Kumar, who had earlier urged the people to vote his father back to power, said the overwhelming mandate is indicative of the strong support for the NDA’s development initiative.

“We were sure about a decisive victory, but the final outcome is better than expected. I thank the people of Bihar for this mandate. The people have given us a massive majority after witnessing father’s track record and his vision to take the state to new heights,” Nishant said, adding that the ruling BJP-JDU combine has ensured Bihar’s all-round development, and the NDA government’s focus will remain unchanged in the coming years.

“The NDA has ensured all-round development of the state and work will continue further, The pace at which Bihar is progressing will continue, and the NDA government will keep advancing the development agenda,” the 50-year-old said.

NDA routs INDIA bloc in Bihar, secures landslide win

Nishant Kumar’s remarks came after the ruling NDA decimated the opposition Congress and RJD-led Mahagathbandhan, winning 202 of the state’s 243 seats. Nitish Kumar’s JDU won 85 seats, while the BJP emerged as the single-largest party, winning 89 seats.

In contrast, the opposition Mahagathbandhan led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress, faced a rout in the state, winning just 33 of the 243 seats it had contested, with Congress securing a dismal 6 seats out of the 61 it fought.

After the crushing loss, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the elections in the state were “not fair from the very beginning” which made it difficult for the opposition alliance to win, adding that the Congress and the INDIA bloc would conduct an in-depth review of the results.
