Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: In a significant infrastructure update in the country, the first leg of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway’s DND-Jaitpur stretch in Delhi will be ready by June. In the recent update, road transport minister Nitin Gadkari has announced the 59-km DND-Faridabad-Sohna link of the expressway is being developed in three construction packages. Delhi-Mumbai Expressway’s DND-Jaitpur stretch

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway’s DND-Jaitpur stretch is expected to be a major infrastructure for the region. In a written response to a question from South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari stated that the 59-km DND–Faridabad–Sohna section of the expressway is being built in three packages, of which the final two have been completed and are now open to traffic.

“Project package-1 from DND junction to Jaitpur of 9 km is in advance stage of construction with physical progress of 94.23% and is scheduled to be completed by June 2026. Package-1 is delayed due to delay in approval of the general arrangement drawings of the structure from the Uttar Pradesh irrigation department for crossing of Agra canal,” Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said.

DND-Faridabad-Sohna link

As per the recent update, the 59-kilometer DND-Faridabad-Sohna link is being constructed in three packages, with the first 9-kilometer package from the DND junction to Jaitpur nearing completion and scheduled for completion by June 2026.

The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway is a key infrastructure project being built as an eight-lane, access-controlled highway. Designed for speeds of up to 120 km/h, the Delhi- Mumbai Expressway also has provisions for future expansion to 12 lanes. Once completed, the expressway will link Delhi with Mumbai, passing through six states, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra, proving to be a major help for commuters.
