Patna Metro Rail update: In a matter of good news for the residents of Patna, BJP leader and Urban Development Minister in Nitish Kumar’s government has hinted that the Patna Metro will be inaugurated by the end of this month. As per media reports covering the Patna metro project, the metro rail will run between a few stations in the beginning but the government will keep adding and operationalizing new stations in its network every month.

“The Patna Metro Rail will be inaugurated by the end of this month. Initially, operations will begin at a few stations. After that, the number of stations will be increased every month”, Urban Development Minister Jiwesh Kumar updated the media about the Patna Metro Rail inauguration.

Details on Patna Metro project

The first corridor of the Patna Metro has been named the Red Line. The metro on the Red Line will run between Danapur Cantt and Khemnichak, serving 14 stations. Stations will be built on the Red Line at Danapur Cantt, Saguna Mor, RPS Mor, Patliputra, Ruknpura, Raja Bazar, Zoo, Vikas Bhawan, Vidyut Bhawan, Patna Junction, Mithapur, Ramakrishna Nagar, Jaganpura, and Khemnichak. Patna Junction and Khemnichak stations will be interchange stations for both lines, allowing passengers to switch from one line to the other.

Patna Metro project route details

The route on which the metro will first run is the second corridor of the Patna Metro project. It has been named the Blue Line. Once all 12 stations on the Blue Line are operational, the metro will run from Patna Junction to ISBT. The Blue Line will have stations at Patna Junction, Akashvani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Science College, Moinul Haq Stadium, Rajendra Nagar, Malahi Pakadi, Khemnichak, Bhootnath, Zero Mile (Mile), and ISBT.

First trial run of Patna Metro successfully completed

The long wait of the people of Patna is finally coming to an end as the first trial run of the Patna Metro was successfully conducted on Wednesday. In this initial run, a three-coach metro train operated on an 800-meter-long track inside the depot, where every technical and safety parameter was closely tested. Officials said this marked a historic milestone for Bihar’s capital city.
