Gulshan Devaiah says film comparisons are PR-driven

Gulshan Devaiah, who plays a pivotal role in Rishab Shetty starrer responded to the box office comparisons surrounding Kantara Chapter 1, saying that it’s all the PR hype that fuels the competition. In an exclusive conversation with india.com, Gulshan revealed that several industry figures are coming forward to show their admiration for the film. “So many people came out and appreciate our film and I think that’s exactly how it should be and how it feels,” he said.

Speaking on the comparisons, the actor feels that they are mostly driven by PR, “It’s unfortunate that we live in a world where all the PR focuses on how successful a film is and compares it to someone else’s,” he said.

According to him, one should focus on telling honest stories instead of chasing comparisons. Stating Rajinikanth’s example, Gulshan said, “If you look at Mr Rajinikanth, its unfair, like look at his entire career and track record- we shouldn’t compare. It’s disrespectful and be competitive to somebody like that who is a legend of India(BHARAT)n cinema. The Family Man actor concluded, “These things shouldn’t matter like tell your sincere story and it should reach the audience and they will make it whatever it has to be.”
