The victim, Angoori, 26, had been living with a man named Anuj for around one and a half years, and the couple had moved to a rented house in Dundahera village in Gurugram, about 20 days ago.
Gurugram murder: In a shocking incident, the decomposed body of a 26-year-old woman was found in an apartment in Haryana’s Gurugram, nearly a week after she was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner at their rented home, officials said on Wednesday.
According to the police, the slain victim, identified as Angoori, 26, had been living with a man named Anuj for around one and a half years, and the couple had moved to a rented house in Dundahera village in Gurugram, about 20 days ago.
Angoori’s decomposed body was found under a bed in the couple’s rented accommodation on Wednesday after locals noticed foul smell emanating from the premises and informed the police, an official said. Citing preliminary investigations, police said Angoori was last seen on October 31, after she had returned from work at around 7 PM in the evening.
Investigations suggest Anuj killed the woman around a week ago and fled after locking the house from the outside, police said, adding that the suspect, who is suspected to have strangled his live-in partner to death, is absconding and a manhunt has been launched to nab him at the earliest.
“The body was found in a highly decomposed state after locals informed police about a foul smell emanating from the room. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was called to the spot, and the body was sent for post-mortem,” a senior police officer said.
Police have registered an FIR at the Udyog Vihar police station, he said, adding that further investigation is underway, and efforts are on to arrest the accused.
