Hyderabad HORROR: Drunk man burns wife death after suspecting her of…, runs away with 8-yr-old son

Hyderabad murder: In a shocking incident, a Hyderabad man allegedly killed his wife by setting her on fire while the victim was asleep. As per the police, the incident took place on December 23, when the accused, burned his wife to death, allegedly in an inebriated condition, because he suspected her of infidelity.

Giving details, a senior official said that on the fateful day, the accused man, a construction worker by profession, doused his wife with petrol while she was asleep and set her on fire. Upon witnessing the horror, the couple’s children, a boy (8) and a girl (6), rushed out of the home, following which the accused fled the scene with his son, he said.

Neighbours rushed to the house upon hearing the screams of the woman and her daughter and later alerted the police, he said, adding that a police team arrived at the scene and rushed the woman state-run hospital where she succumbed. The victim had sustained 95 percent burns, they said.

Prima facie, it appears that the accused suspected his wife, who worked as a household help, suspected his wife of infidelity. On December 23, the man purchased petrol in a bottle, consumed alcohol, and put his murder plan into motion when he doused the victim with the inflammable fluid and burned her to death, the police said.

Officials said the accused had absconded with his son, switched off his mobile phone and was travelling to different places to evade arrest, but the police managed to nab him within 36 hours after the crime.

A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the law and further investigation is underway, they said.
