‘If there is no love and…’: Rajshree and Kamla Pasand owner’s daughter-in-law found dead in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar, suicide note found

The daughter-in-law of pan masala businessman Kamal Kishor Chaurasia, who owns the Kamla Pasand and Rajshree brands, has died, reportedly by suicide, at the family’s home in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar. Deepti Chaurasia, aged 40, was the wife of Kamal Kishor’s son Arpit. She was found dead in the house around noon on Tuesday. According to early information, she used a dupatta to hang herself. A note was found in her room in which she wrote that she does not blame anyone. One line from the note said: “If there is no love and trust in a relationship, what is the point of life?”

Police also found a diary in which Deepti had written about problems between her and her husband, Harpreet Chaurasia. Some reports claim that Deepti was upset because Harpreet had married again, and that his second marriage was to a South India(BHARAT)n film actress. Police believe family tensions may have played a major role, but they are still investigating.

Deepti and Harpreet married in 2010 and have a 14-year-old son. Police have taken the body for post-mortem at Safdarjung Hospital. They have not yet released an official statement on the incident.

Kamala Kant began the business nearly 40 years ago, selling loose pan masala from a small stall in Kanpur. Over time, the business grew rapidly. Today, the companyrun under the KP Group and Kamala Kant Companyhas a turnover worth several thousand crores.
