Bollywood Film Produced By Ratan Tata
Headlined by John Abraham, Amitabh Bachchan, and Bipasha Basu, this movie was produced by Ratan Tata and directed by Vikram Bhatt. If you are wondering which movie this is, then we are talking about Aetbaar.
Released in Aetbaar, it was the only movie produced by Ratan Tata. After receiving success in his different ventures, Tata thought of investing in the Bollywood industry as well. He co-produced Aetbaar under the Tata Infomedia banner.
Aetbaar Budget and Box Office Collection
Aetbaar was a romantic psychological thriller which was made for Rs 9.5 crore. While the movie was anticipated to do well at the box office, things happened the other way around. John and Bipasha’s movie turned out to be a huge flop and it only earned Rs 7.96 crore at the box office. It could not even recover its budget.
Aetbaar Plot
The film revolves around Dr. Ranveer Malhotra (Amitabh Bachchan), a devoted father determined to protect his daughter, Ria Malhotra (Bipasha Basu), from her obsessive and dangerously volatile boyfriend, Aryan Trivedi (John Abraham). The supporting cast features Supriya Pilgaonkar, Tom Alter, Ali Asgar, Prithvi Zutshi, and Shruti Ulfat.
Though the film was a huge flop, stories from the set often emerge. One such incident was shared by John Abraham when he said, “When I arrived for my first muhurat shot, I came on a motorcycle. The film was Aetbaar, and Hrithik Roshan and Amitabh Bachchan were there to clap the board for me. Hrithik and I were classmates—he’s a sweetheart. But when I reached the venue, the security stopped me at the gate and asked, ‘Who are you?’ I told them, ‘This is my film’s muhurat,’ but they didn’t recognize me and refused to let me in.”
He added, “Finally, after some convincing, they opened the gates, and I saw Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan waving at me, calling me in. That was my first time—it happened at Sujeet Kumar’s house.”
