IndiGo Airlines aircraft makes emergency landing after bomb threat letter found in toilet
An IndiGo flight, en route from Delhi to Bagdogra in West Bengal, made an emergency landing at Lucknow airport on Sunday following a bomb threat.
Lucknow: An IndiGo flight on Sunday made an emergency landing at Lucknow airport after a bomb threat, news agency ANI reported. The flight, carrying over 230 passengers, took off from Delhi and was en route to West Bengal’s Bagdogra. According to ACP Rajneesh Verma, the bomb threat was found written on a tissue paper in the toilet of the flight.
“A message was found written on a tissue paper in the toilet of the flight, stating that there was a bomb on board. The flight had 238 passengers, along with the pilots and crew. The flight was en route from Delhi to Bagdogra. It made an emergency landing in Lucknow and is currently being searched,” ACP Verma said.

Currently, officials and bomb disposal squad is conducting a thorough search of the flight. The flight made an emergency landing as a precautionary measure and landed safely.

After landing, the commercial flight was rushed to the isolation bay, and security agencies swung into action.
Bomb Threat Written on Tissue Paper
As per ACP Verma, the Air Traffic Control (ATC) had been alerted immediately about a bomb threat. The threat message was found in the flight’s toilet. The threat message, which was written on a tissue paper read – ‘Bomb on the plane.’
The flight had 238 passengers, along with the pilots and crew. All flyers and crew were safely deboarded at the Lucknow airport after the standard security protocols.
Security Agencies Activated
Security agencies were briefed about the incident and an investigation has been initiated. A thorough inspection of the aircraft and luggage had been conducted at the airport.
