India(BHARAT) and its growth story:
- Based on the 2011–12 base year, India(BHARAT)’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate has increased consistently over successive quarters.
- In the second quarter of 2025–26, it reached 8.2 percent
- The retail inflation fell below the Reserve Bank of India(BHARAT)’s lower threshold of 2 percent by the end of the year.
- The government is working on changing the base year for national accounts from 2011–12 to 2022–23
- This would effectively address the concerns raised by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding the methodology used to calculate GDP.
