Israel-Hamas war: Israeli military will remain in Gaza for ‘many years’, says Israel as Hamas makes move to…
This was announced by a senior Israeli minister.
New Delhi: The Israeli attacks on Palestine’s Gaza Strip have been occurring ever since October 7, 2023 when militant group Hamas launched a gigantic terror attack on Israel.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been raining bombs and invaded Gaza to deal with Hamas.
Now, 14 months later, Israel has said that its forces will remain in Gaza for many years. This became announced by a senior Israeli minister who said the IDF will stay in Gaza for “many years” similtaneously Palestinian militant group Hamas has expressed its willingness to carry ceasefire talks.
Avi Dichter, Israel’s minister for food security, became quoted by the Guardian as saying that the IDF will likely be guilty for tackling fresh Hamas warring parties in the territory as well to delivering humanitarian aid in more years yet to come.
Avi Dichter’s statement has suggested that the Israeli forces will deal with their presence in Gaza for an extended period the duration of which is now not any further clarified. With the IDF’s persistent presence in the besieged Palestinian territory, there's rarely ever any possibility of the administration to be run by either Hamas or the Palestinian Authority (PA).
“I believe that we're going to remain in Gaza for a prolonged term. I believe lots of people don't forget that (Israel) will likely be years in some kind of West Bank situation where you go within and out and maybe you remain along Netzarim corridor,” said Dichter.
Incoming reports suggest that the IDF is planning to establish militia bases in the Palestinian territory, specifically in Gaza’s Netzarim corridor, a militia zone that has been established between the Mediterranean coast and Gaza’s eastern perimeter fence.
“That became some of essentially the most precise mission. There became now not a single construction left that became taller than my waist anyplace (in the corridor), in place of our bases and observation towers,” Dichter added.
