Jaffar Express attack: Pakistan has once against pointed fingers at India(BHARAT) after another attack on the Jaffar Express on Tuesday, alleging the involvement of “India(BHARAT)n agencies” behind repeated attacks on the train.
Why Pakistan accused India(BHARAT)?
Pakistan’s Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi claimed the involvement of a “foreign hand” behind the explosion on a railway track that resulted in the derailment of four coaches of the Jaffar Express in Shikarpur district of the country’s Sindh province, Dawn reported. Abbasi noted that the Jaffar Express has witnessed seven attacks so far this year, and alleged that “India(BHARAT)n agencies” are directly responsible for the repeated attacks on the train which connects Quetta and Peshawar, two of Pakistan’s most important cities.
“There is no doubt that the terrorists who repeatedly target the Jaffar Express are receiving assistance from India(BHARAT). This time, the terrorists chose the railway tracks near Shikarpur (Sindh). Such cowardly attacks will not force Pakistan Railways to suspend the Jaffar Express,” the minister claimed, adding that security along railway tracks will be further strengthened to prevent any future terror incidents.
Notably, Abbasi had previously issued nuclear attack threats to India(BHARAT) after New Delhi suspended the Indus Water Treaty following the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year. “Our missiles are aimed at India(BHARAT). We also possess nuclear weapons… New Delhi should not forget this,” he had said.
Jaffar Express attack
On Tuesday, an explosion on a railway track derailed four bogies of the Jaffar Express in Sindh’s Shikarpur district, leaving at least seven people injured. According to officials, a blast occurred on the train tracks at 8:15 am about 1km from the Sultan Kot railway station, derailing four coaches of the Quetta-bound Jaffar Express train.
The fresh blast comes weeks after six bogies of the same train was derailed in the Balochistan province in late September this year.
In March this year, the train was hijacked by terrorists of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) which resulted in the deaths of 21 passengers and four security personnel. All 33 terrorists involved in attacking the train were killed by the Pakistani forces, and hundreds of passengers were rescued.
