Jaffar Express attacked near Sindh-Balochistan border in Pakistan, several passengers injured; Baloch Republic Guards claims responsibility
This is not the first time the Jaffar Express has been attacked. In August 2025, another bomb explosion in Mastung district of Balochistan had derailed six coaches of the same train.

The Jaffar Express train was attacked on Tuesday near the Sultankot area, close to the Sindh-Balochistan border, when a bomb planted on the railway track exploded. The blast caused several coaches to derail as the train was on its way to Quetta. Early rescue reports say that several passengers were injured, though the exact number of casualties and damage is still not known. Rescue teams and security forces quickly reached the spot to help the injured, while medical staff began treatment and officials started investigating how the attack happened.
In the visuals, Pakistani security personnel can be seen cordoning off the entire area.

Baloch Republic Guards claims responsibility
The Baloch rebel group, known as the Baloch Republic Guards (BRG), has claimed responsibility for the train attack. The group said it targeted the Jaffar Express because Pakistani Army personnel were travelling on board.
In a statement, the BRG said, “The train was attacked when personnel of the occupying Pakistani Army were on board. The explosion killed and injured several soldiers, and six coaches were derailed.”
The group further added, “The BRG takes full responsibility for this attack and declares that such operations will continue until the independence of Balochistan.”
This is not the first time the Jaffar Express has been attacked. In August 2025, another bomb explosion in Mastung district of Balochistan had derailed six coaches of the same train. That incident caused minor injuries to a few passengers and temporarily disrupted train services, showing the ongoing security problems in the region.
In March 2025, militants from the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) had hijacked the Jaffar Express in the Bolan Pass, taking more than 400 passengers hostage during a long standoff with security forces.
