Hyderabad: Following the humiliating loss against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday, Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka was spotted giving a dressing down to captain KL Rahul. The clip of that from after the match has gone viral on social space. Now, fans are speculating about what happens to Rahul’s future at the Super Giants? Will Rahul suffer the same fate as MS Dhoni did in 2017.
In 2016, the Sanjiv Goenka’s Rising Pune Supergiants finished second last, and at the start of the 2017 season, Steve Smith was made the captain. Dhoni was sacked as the skipper of the side. Back then, many publications reported that Goenka sacked Dhoni as he wanted someone fitter and younger.
“Am lost for words. We have watched that kind of batting on tv. But this is unreal batting. Everything seemed to find the middle of the bat. Kudos to their skills. They have worked hard on their six hitting skills. They didn’t give us a chance to know what the pitch played in the second innings. Was hard to stop them as they teed off from ball one,” Rahul said at the post-match presentation following the 10-wicket defeat.
Travis Head hammered 30 balls 89 and Abhishek Sharma slammed 75 off 38 as Sunrisers Hyderabad thrashed Lucknow Super Giants by ten wickets and chased down the target of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs.
Abhishek and Travis completely destroyed the LSG bowling attack.
The Super Giants find themselves in the sixth position after 12 games. They have won six and lost the equal number of games.
